I did not grow up with cupcakes in Romania and for me they are not a must have at every occasion, but I like them when they are homemade and changed to taste more like something my family would bake. I brought some of my favorite flavors to this recipe by filling the cupcakes with the same amazing apricot jam that I used in my earlier honey cake recipe, and I used both vanilla sugar and butter-vanilla essence. I had a lot of fun creating this recipe and this will probably convince me to make more cupcakes in the near future.
