If you grew up in Romania, you definitely had these dumplings as a child. Everyone loves this dessert and normally parents or grandparents will make this dish during the plum season, which is usually in the month of September. This dish would be repeated several times in a week and I could never get tired of it. This is one dessert that I could eat until I couldn’t eat anymore.
It's not easy to find this type of plum in the United States, but if you have a local Hispanic market, check there first. The plums will be different than the ones in Romania, but they are closer than the typical plums that you’ll find in regular grocery stores. This dish is something that my family would love to eat every single day if possible.
