Chicken and Green Pea Stew


I never liked cooked green peas growing up. No matter how it was prepared, I couldn’t touch them, and the only time I would eat them were straight from the garden. I enjoyed opening the pods and eating them one by one; I found that process magical and very relaxing. Fresh peas are very sweet and can be like eating a fruit.


I knew it was about time to come up with my own green pea dish, and this is the perfect combination of minimal spices, protein and sauce. I took my grandmother’s recipe and added new spices to compliment the peas. This is a very easy dish to make, and everything gets cooked in one pot. This is a combination of Romanian and Indian food in one dish. You take the simple Romanian chicken & peas stew and combine it with murgh matar masala and you get something incredible that both countries can enjoy.
